Bair Island Aquatic Center is proud to be part of Freedom Rows sponsored by USRowing. As part of this nation-wide program, BIAC is offering Veterans and Members of the Armed Services an opportunity to experience the full range of opportunities and benefits to be gained from recreational rowing FREE OF CHARGE.
This event is for Veterans and Members of the Armed Forces, both disabled and able-bodied.
We will provide knowledgeable, passionate coaches and a safe and fun environment to learn the basics of rowing on machines and the water. There will be ample volunteers to help keep the boats stable and with transfers.
Enjoy some time in the sun, surrounded by nature and new friends.
We can tailor the equipment to almost anyone, traditionally those who have CP class 4 or higher-level spinal cord injuries (T12 and up) can participate.
Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, close-fitting clothes/shoes appropriate for an outdoor workout, and a bottle of water.
If someone will be attending with you, please add them as a guest as part of your registration.
You will also be asked to sign a waiver and release form. Please download the waiver here and bring the signed copy with you. Waivers will also be available to sign at check-in.
If you are unable to attend but would like more information please contact Kerry at outreach@gobair.org.
