How to Make a Matching Gift

Many companies have programs where they will match the charitable contributions made by their employees. Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply the impact of your donation to BIAC. Conditions, criteria, and procedures for matching gifts vary by employer, and some even match donations made by spouses, retirees, and board members.

Companies with gift matching programs often use their internal HR portals or third-party platforms to manage employee matching gift requests. Examples of third-party platforms include Benevity, Bright Funds, Givinga, and Millie Giving. Please check with your employer if you are unsure whether they offer matching gifts or whether BIAC is an approved non-profit within their matching gift program guidelines.

The most important thing to do is check with your employer about matching gifts.

Typically, you can make a matching gift in three simple steps:

1. Make a donation to BIAC, save your receipt, and check with your employer to see if they have a matching gift program.
2. Review the matching gift instructions, often found on your company intranet.
3. Submit your match request following your company’s instructions, either submitting it electronically online or by downloading and completing the relevant forms.
