What Membership Includes

Membership dues provide access to BIAC docks, ergs, workout equipment, member rates for clinics where applicable, members only classes, and opportunity to row with coached teams. Available equipment includes kayaks and SUPS (free with membership), as well as rowing shells ($300 annual equipment usage fee) and surfskis ($100 annual usage fee).

Full time college students receive a 25% discount on membership fees shown (college specific memberships already include the discount). Please contact the Board of Directors about your student status.

The off-water membership is intended for college students who wish to use BIAC weights and ergs, but not BIAC watercraft. It applies for a full year but is to be used only while a student is in the area on a break.

Please note that, per BIAC's bylaws, membership fees are not refundable.

What is Not Included

Memberships do not include monthly coaching fees for Masters teams. Storage for personal watercraft is additional, fees are shown above. Racks for personal watercraft are in high demand. Please contact the Yardmaster to inquire about availability.

Volunteering

As a nonprofit volunteer organization, BIAC depends on contributions of time and energy from its members to maintain boats and club premises. All annual adult memberships require a volunteer commitment of 12 hours per year. Unfulfilled hours at the end of the year will be billed at $30 per hour unfulfilled. Members who cannot make this commitment can opt out up front by paying a fee of $250. Please indicate your preference on the Membership Application.

New Member Orientation

All new members must participate in a site orientation, which may include an equipment certification process, prior to using the facility unsupervised. Contact your program manager to schedule a tour.

Guest Privileges

Current BIAC members may invite a guest to use BIAC facilities up to three times per year. All guests are required to sign a Liability Release prior to using BIAC facilities or services. Individual BIAC members bringing invited guests are responsible for payment of the $20 single-day use fee for each guest visit. Guests under 18 years of age must have their release signed by their legal parent or guardian.

BIAC Rules and Regulations

It is strongly advised that each member, new and current, review the BIAC Rules and Regulations. A hard copy is posted in the lobby of the BIAC facility. The Rules and Regulations provide additional detail beyond the information provided here.

All club members and club programs are to operate in compliance with these Rules and Regulations. Violations may result in disciplinary action by an authorized BIAC representative (a board member, program leader, team captain, or coach).

Every member should also be familiar with BIAC's Safety procedures to help ensure everyone's safety in our community and maintain our special facility. We all share the challenges of a dynamic marine environment, busy waterways, and a multi-use resource.

Voting

Only current, fully-paid Masters members (paddling or rowing) are eligible to vote in Board of Directors election.
